The most important thing to me, every morning, every night, whether I’m writing, or directing, preparing something, or singing about it, whether it’s a drive, or a tone, or a hobby, or fun, is to hit hard on one word which only the camera can really do, and that’s emotion. There is nothing that can get as close to an eyeball, where the entire one eye, where the pupil of an eye, can fill up the screen. That’s why to me, it’s one of the greatest arts in the world…
We are now only in the early ages of most civilization and moviemaking, imagine five-hundred years or a thousand years from now. They will laugh at this like gladiators fighting in a coliseum.
