God Moving Over the Face of the Waters

The clearest way into the Universe is through a forest wilderness.
- John Muir

Last post for a while and I wanted to step away on a song.

Tim Buckley’s “Once I Was” is a song that has stayed in my heart ever since I saw Hal Ashby’s “Coming Home” and the way it’s used is devastating.

I’m dealing with a lot of issues myself (Who isn’t, right?) but there’s a section of lyrics in “Once I Was” that just sums up what I’m going through better than I could ever say on my own right now:

"Though you have forgotten
All of our rubbish dreams
I find myself searching
Through the ashes of our ruins
For the days when we smiled
And the hours that ran wild
With the magic of our eyes
And the silence of our words”
